On the 12th of October many of our members have attended an interesting lunchlecture from Vanderlande, it was presented by Vice President Warehouse Solutions Terry Verkuijlen together with Honorary member and Transformation Manager Floris Lievens. Among other things, the key to succes of the company and different modules which are being developed were discussed. Our new knowlegde was ofcourse tested with a quiz game.
This lecture was the first activity by Vanderlande as our new sponsor. We are looking forward to a great collaboration!
From the 3rd to the 7th of May de Thêta company days have taken place. The week started with a lunchlecture by Jos Lamers, who told about his experiences with leading a big organisation. On Tuesday and Thursday, students could attend multiple cases and trainings by Heijmans, ExxonMobil, YER, YAG and De Rabobank.
On Friday, the Performance by Innovative Health congres closed the week, themed with prehabilitation. The day consisted of three plenary sessions with interesting speakers and a paneldiscussion. At the end of the day, a online network drink took place.
We are very satisfied with this first edition of the Thêta companydays and we would like to thank the involved committee members, companiers and speakers for their input, flexibility and effort during this event.
On October 25, ALTEN Nederland visited a super fun rowing clinic! In the boat they learned how to work together as a group in order to row. Along the way, they could get to know each other better during a delicious barbecue, and of course during the drinks afterwards! Thank you for your enthausiasm!
ENOn November 14, Argo and Laga members showed up at our boathouse to compete against Thêta for the Antea Showdown. In a series of mainly physical, but also intellectual games, Thêta had to prove to be almighty. After a successful first round, Thêta took the lead. However, our stamina turned out not to be big enough to get the most points during the second half of the games, and the win unfortunately went to Laga. Next year the Showdown will most likely take place again, so we wish everyone good luck with their preparation.
During the Case Night on September 19, our students were introduced to the logistical problems that an oil and energy company like ExxonMobil can face. During the negotiations about the raw materials, tempers ran high between the different teams. The biggest challenge was to put together the right production process. The (virtual) factory exploded for many of the teams.
